I prefer sunlight with an overhead light than overhead light and night light.,

At night other forms of light are preferred.  Strange how I don't like sunlight at home without the overhead light.  Any reasons why my eyes might have this reaction?  I mean I dim bulbs, and Christmas lights, and sometimes candles.
