My personal research into vision phenomena.

Telling one's perspective on things can feel like opening I'm opening myself up too wide at times.   But I really want to tell you more about your eyes.   I think I have made a new great discovery in how vision works.   We all know our mood and our health effects are vision.  Well some of us do.   Like glasses they make things seem appear different.   Also medications effect vision.   Also stress, anxiety, anger ect..  have an effect on vision.   Things can seem real intense sometimes or real dull.   Sometimes we see things with a great crystal clarity while other times we may feel so out of it that we aren't really seeing much at all.   A liar sees the world differently as does a pervert or a bigot.   The vision differences between one state and another can be radical.   For example the different feeling of seeing when a person is on stimulants compared to depressants.   You may have known this already but here are some new things I have come up with.

I believe that our minds eye can make a map through our imagination of our whole surroundings.   In our homes this likely to be so.   Also to some degree our mind has mapped out other areas.   If we spend too much time in one place the image of a place can get seriously lodged into that person's mind.   Perhaps we do this with people to some extent and have a mental map of their bodies.   To a large extent the most familiar and focused upon images become permanent fixtures in the brain and effect our reality at all times.   If we are up mainly at night than we see reality as a night person is the best example.   Then I came up with some excercizes around vision.

1.  Delving deeply into the computer animated world of the minds eye and other early computer animated videos and dvds,  especially those with music with no words allows the imagination to get much larger.   Long periods of watching will eventually cause a person to think more in images than in words.  An odd state to be in.

2.  If you are out in nature ask yourself what am I looking at?   Do this with a flower, a rock with dirt on it, a bush, a tree and even a whole landscape.   Even better have a friend ask you the question and you answer back and you would be amazed at how much you are seeing and that when you start to notice all the details how much more alive that image becomes.   Remind yourself or be reminded that we are all made of the same atoms of the universe when you are busy looking and how you are very connected to what you are looking at as you are a part of the universe.

3.  Find a beautiful view that also has a beautiful view dirrectly behind it.  Relax completly and try not to think about any thoughts except what you are seeing.   Just stand there and gaze in wonder at what is in front of you and take it in while letting your imagination to do it's magical work.   Once you've spent two or three minutes on one side turn 180 degrees and try the other side and keep going back and forth.  Even if you are daring find 2-4 more flipping points nearby or place where you can spin 90 degrees at a time, but each view should have what I call some kind of point of interest.   Some spot or area that draws your attention to it.   I think the less points of interest the better.   Once you do this excercize enough in one area your mind will map the area in you imagination in what can only be called a forth dimensional snap shot.  I can almost promise that each experience to be highly magical and unforgetable.   Do it in groups of at least one other person just so people don't think you might be on drugs or something.
