If California tried to bury its past it may long for some of that to return. It was pretty wild. There are stores which still carry that kind of stuff. Mostly though the west is lost. I saw a little maul here over 100 years old that was open to walk in but was not selling anymore. The lettering though made you know that it was intense and rough. But many rough characters had a soft spot besides booze and women. So they were rough, wild, but very good company, good at banter and the art of the outrageous.
