Some of the blanks asked for a superhero name and compared moms to something super strong, smart and brave.
I walked along the rows of desks with Steele, pausing to help students spell words. According to the students, their moms or grandmothers were as strong as the Hulk, a rock, a school, a brick, and were as smart as a teacher, a kid, "my dogs" and an iPad. Superhero names included Cat Mom, Superwoman and Super Flower.
