It will have to give a new definition of what the place is rather than allude to being a place that retains the 70's.  In fact the evidence of that is a mirage or myth.  It is practically a lie to have people believe in such nonsense.  The bay area is passing into a new era obviously where market forces overpower other forces.  It is a time that is looking like a factory town in that many people are over worked with two jobs just to afford living here.  The homeless situation remains scary and bleak in a way the reminds of a London hundreds of years ago.  Where lack of human connection in a factory resembles the isolation many have in the internet.  Things are looking better from the eye point, yet the news can tell you that serious problems keep erupting here.   No flower in women's hair, or welcoming docks by the bay.  Here traditions are often being broken for a brave yet very uncertain future.
